The self-confident Anora, a young stripper from Brooklyn, gets the chance to get out when she meets Ivan, the son of an oligarch, and a short time later spontaneously marries him in Las Vegas. When the news reaches Russia, her dream of a better future is in danger: Ivan's parents travel to New York to annul the marriage.
